Our mission is to provide free, expeditious, and effective dispute resolution services to central Oklahoma in Cleveland and McClain counties. Utilizing trained and certified volunteers, we strive to help people participate in settling their own conflicts tocreate a more peaceful community.

2024 Volunteer of the Year! Jequita H. Napoli is an Active Ret. Special Judge in Cleveland County. Since retirement she been engaged in volunteer activities including regular volunteer mediation beginning in August 2022 with the Early Settlement-Central Program. In addition, she is Chair of the Oklahoma Access to Justice Foundation Board and Thunderbird Clubhouse in Norman, and board member of the Women’s Resource Center, also in Norman. She has served as a Board Member and Chair of both the Oklahoma Board of Bar Examiners and the National Conference of Bar Examiners and spent six years each with the ABA Section of Legal Education Council and its Accreditation Committee. She continues to serve as a regular committee member for the NCBE and as a law school site evaluator for the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. Jequita has been a volunteer for 8 years and has mediated 54 cases. She has volunteered over 153 hours to the Early Settlement – Central program.
Director Tylnn Childress was happy to attend OU Law’s Government and Public Interest Fair and to speak with future attorneys about mediation. If you are a law student interested in the extern program, please reach out (405) 366-0640.

Externship Opportunities

The Central Program offers externship opportunities for law students in Oklahoma.
An externship with Early Settlement Mediation allows the student to:
* train and become certified in Early Settlement Mediation
* participate in courtroom observation
*become familiar with local attorneys and judges
* gain invaluable professional skills
